I noticed that the vzmigrate tool is present in proxmox 1.6

does it mean that live migration of openvz containers is possible with 1.6 (perhaps manual)?

I think so because the wiki says it's not possible with OpenVZ but only with KVM.
Provided than I have /var/lib/vz/ on a shared storage can I live-migrate openvz container?

OpenVZ only support local storage on var/lib/vz - but live-migration is still possible. in simple words it just rsync all files at several stages which leads to a very minimal short suspend but no downtime, and all network connections stays alive - in fact very cool, but only stable in the 2.6.18er branch. but 2.6.32 will be better and better which each release.

I tried "live" migration of openvz and it locked-up. I had to kill -9 it. This was on 2.6.32 .... let's hope it improves :)
