Click to expand... i can't seem to get even as far as you have; after a fairly long hang following "nvram: invalid checksum", i see "clock: unknown CMOS layout" and "cpu1: unknown i686 model 0, can't get bus clock (0x0)", followed by an infinite hang. my host is a core2 quad q9300.
