After reading your last reply I decided to install 2.6.18 kernel on both of my proxmox master and slave machines. Issues I ran into after installing a different kernel. Both nic cards on both machines could no longer communicate with any machines on the LAN. To correct that, I did this for both servers.
renamed the file below z70_persistent-net.rules to z70_persistent-net.rules.old. Then rebooted the promox servers.
/etc/udev/rules.d/z70_persistent-net.rules I then proceeded to do a live migration for an openvz container. Checked the box "Online migration", clicked migrate.
The migration failed with an error "unable to suspend the container"
I tried the migration a second time this time without checking the online migration option. The migration completed successfully even starting up the container on the slave proxmox server.
