Hello,

we've seen that on upgraded PVE5systems ntp and systemd-timesyncd exists. On new installation there is no ntp installed, is this, can this be an problem?

Thanks

Hi
sorry but for me there is a problem;

on a fresh proxmox 5.2 , the file /etc/systemd/timesyncd.conf has no time server by default

thanks and best regards

Yes, that it correct - it uses the default servers.

What is the status of the systemd-timesyncd service ?

# systemctl status systemd-timesyncd.service

Hi,

it is active : Active: active (running) since .........

The key point is a "known bug " in systemd-timesyncd that can stop working silently

and it happen ed recently on one of my host

So I switched back to ntp waiting for systemd to mature a little bit

tnaks and best regards
