Old kernel version after update from 1.3 to 1.4

Hello, after I did the update from 1.3 to 1.4 and reboot I get still the old kernel (uname -a). All other parts from VE are clean installed. (pveversion -v) I try to install the package again but it did not work. Please can one linuz crack help? I think that is no great deal. Thanks a lot Jusper

did you run a 'dist-upgrade'?

# apt-get dist-upgrade

I tried:
apt-get udate
apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get install
apt-get --reinstall install

#find / -name vmlinuz*
did show only the old kernel

Is that posible to download the new kernel and put them into grub by hand?

wget ftp://download.proxmox.com/debian/d...4/pve-kernel-2.6.24-8-pve_2.6.24-16_amd64.deb

and install:

dpkg -i pve-kernel-2.6.24-8-pve_2.6.24-16_amd64.deb

and reboot.

I perform your suggestions and it works. The new kernel is now there but the atp-get create an error message that he can not find /boot/grub and could not create them. I searche over the disks and did not find any menu.lst.
#grub is working, I get a shell. On start I have a menu.

Where can I tell the system what kernel he should load?

Seems you grub installation is broken. Is that a standard installation? Maybe you can try to reinstall the grub package.

Yes Dietmar, it could be. I tried to install grub again but still booting the old kernel. I get my backups from the system and begin by scratch. I thinks that is the best way to have a clean system.

PS: I have solved the problem with "Begin by scratch"!
I think, the problem was an preconfigured disk with mount point to /boot.
