Hi,

we are running Proxmox 6.2 (enterprise) in two 3-node clusters with ceph (14.2).

We plan to upgrade the clusters to Proxmox 7. Upgrade procedure will be to re install node by node with Proxmox 7, join cluster, install ceph, import OSDs and let Ceph resync.

Lowest supported ceph version in Proxmox 7 is Version 15. Is this going to be a problem, i.e. do we need to upgrade ceph first? We would like to avoid connecting the existing Proxmox 6.2 nodes to the internet before installing Proxmox 7.

Hi,

Yes, you have to upgrade Ceph to Octopus then upgrade to Proxmox VE 7.x [0] as in our wiki guide mentioned.

Code:
Hyper-converged Ceph: upgrade the Ceph Nautilus cluster to Ceph 15.2 Octopus before you start the Proxmox VE upgrade to 7.0. Follow the guide Ceph Nautilus to Octopus
