Nvme passthrough seen as sdx

Hi,

I'm trying to passthrough a nvme drive (seen as /dev/nvme0n1 from pve) to a vm, but the vm sees it as /dev/sdd.

Is there something I'm missing? Will the vm use all of the nvme features? How to make the vm see it as a nvme?

even if you passthrough a disk, guest will see a virtual disk (so no smart monitoring in guest), as sata or ide or the recommended scsi virtio drive, depending your selection.
imo, disk passthrough is rarely a good choice in virtualized system.
the "way" is make a datastore then create a virtual disk.
there isn't major performance penalty, except in pure benchmark and still not sure.
