[SOLVED]Ntpdate on VM

Hi,

I get this error :

# /usr/sbin/ntpdate-debian
16 Aug 13:03:22 ntpdate[7913]: step-systime: Operation not permitted

This error message seems due to the fact that the clock on the VM is inherited from the clock on the hardware node you are hosted on, therefore the ntpdate must be run on the hardware node, and not the VM.

Can you confirm it ?

Yes. Or you set "--capability sys_timen" (but setting in one the HW node makes more sense)
