NoVNC Keymap Issues

Hello,
i already found some topics about this but no solution to date.
The NoVNC does not really work with german keyboards, despite the keymap setting on my local pc, host and vm are german (language is en_US, though). It does z instead of y and does not even recognize the positions for english characters, e.g. a "#" on a german keyboard does give a "3" instead of "\" which it should - eg. it does not work at all.

Problem is: To get my vm to boot i need to type in backslashes into the uefi console - but i just can't. Copying in is also not possible. ALT-Code does also not work.

Further, I also can't use any good password when installing the OS on a vm as the password will not be the same i will type in in ssh later on. E.g. for a very short time the password has to be as easy as "test".

I also could not get SPICE to work as no configuration is downloaded, it just refreshed the page - so out of luck to try with that, too.

SSH works fine as soon as set up.

What to do now?

Addition:
I used Edge. With Chrome i can at least type in "#" for "\" - but still no real german keyboard!

i would set either all components to german (vm setting (caution: this is not hotpluggable and requires a stop start of the vm), guest setting and client setting)
or set the datacenter and vm language both to default and then the vm should use the guest language settings

additionally edge could make problems here (alt gr with edge/windows is always a pain in the browser)

Where can i set the VM language?

// EDIT:
Found it. Tried to set both to german and both to default - in both cases i get english keyboard BUT the # = \ now also works on edge when i choose "German" as keyboard. But that doesn't really help me out, i wanted a german keyboard.

Probably this does only not work in the UEFI-Bios?

this should have nothing to do with uefi/bios

what keyboard is set inside the guest os ? e.g. windows keyboard, linux console keymap, etc. (if you set one at the webinterface, this has to be the same to work correctly)

Well, it works correctly for the Linux keymap on my Ubuntu VM. It does not work for the Germany keyboard on my Windows VM nor does it work in the UEFI Bios. As i use the sign "&" in my passwords that means i cannot login to my Windows VM by console as this seems to have no expression on a US layout? oO

& is SHIFT+7 on an us layout
