I am trying to install a Redhat based OS, using OVMF (UEFI) BIOS. My machine type is i440fx, and Display is set to Virtio-GPU.
I know that secure boot needs to be disabled to install it, but I am unable to enter the Boot Manager Menu.
When I press any key to enter it, my console screen goes blank.
I am running a DL380Gen11 with a Xeon 4514Y CPU.
PVE version is 8.4.0

Try using "Default" instead of Virtio-GPU. After installing the OS you should install the qemu guest agent. After that you can try to power off the VM, switch to Virtio-GPU (and enable QEMU Guest Agent in the VM options section). You may want to change the machine type to q35 for newer os.

In general on newer distros secure boot should work.

so i tested this myself on an ancient intel i3 nuc with rocky linux 9.5 gnome lite and it worked.
screens for vm config for initial installation and after installing qemu guest agent attached.

lspci showed me virtio-gpu

Thanks for your replies.
I tried all different combination of machines and display adapters, but I had the same result. I originally created my machine with Virtio-GPU. Changing to default did not change anything. But deleting and creating a new machine with Default as the display adapter resolved my issue.
