[SOLVED] No keyboard in initramfs/initrd

I'm booting an archlinux system in a VM. It has an encrypted root partition so in initramfs it prompts for a password. However no keyboard input is received by the prompt. Keyboard input is received by grub OK.

I'm obviously missing something in initramfs or a config in Proxmox (VE 7.4.3). I'd appreciate some suggestions. For example a module required to interface with VM keyboard. I'd appreciate some suggestions.

It boots OK using fallback initramfs so it's obviously a missing module. I've just no idea which one.

From within VM I ran mkinitcpio which presumably loaded correct modules - now it works
