On a hunch - is the system installed on ZFS and does it boot with UEFI?
If yes the problem is that it's booted with systemd-boot instead of grub, and that you need to edit the kernel commandline elsewhere:

Now the Iommu message does not come any more .


But I get the following error message with PCI passtrue; checksum missmatch (file change by other user?) (500)
