Hi,

I've got a weird thing going on, the back-ups of my VM's and containers are scheduled for every sunday at 01:00.
The backups are stored at my NAS (synology)
Every sunday around this time, i receive an email from synology that there is no connection with my synology. and that i should check my internet. After a time i receive an email that the connection has restored.

Today, i did a manual backup because i was going to upgrade some VM's.
Then i had no internet connection on my PCs, Phones etc.

It looks like my whole internet connection stops during a backup. How is this possible? Does anyone else had this problem?
I've got some Unifi equipment (USG, ROUTERS ETC)

Do you run some virtualized network infrastructure? Maybe a Pihole or something similar? So those services will stop working while backing them up?

Did you try to ping the router and the internet while a backup is running?

Is the backup traffic using the same wire (or WLAN or...) as your other connection?

To over-commit / saturate a single wire might be easier than thought. Then a web-browser might feel just unusable.

This is just one possible reason of course...
