I am trying to setup proxmox on a raid 1 software raid (UEFI/BIOS) but i am stuck in the installer where it tries to detect the drives[ATTACH type="full"]34695[/ATTACH]

I'd recommend you don't using software raid since it's not supported by proxmox PVE

Embedded controllers are not supported in Proxmox, and if they do work, you are doing so at your own risk.

If you need raid 1 you might use zfs or hardware RAID with an authentic and real hardware controller.

FakeRaid controllers do not control so much, they are just some kind of software wrapping which is going to consume respurces from your system, so using a software solution as ZFS or dm-raid is going this without the vendor (usually obsure) lock-in.
