Hi,
as the thread No GUI access but SSH access works was set to "Solved" from the initiatior i have to open another thread because my topic is not solved ;-)

Summary:
I can logon my PVE using putty, but i can not login my PVE using WebGUI.

my issue is, that I get a loginscreen and when i try to login the webGUI - see screenshot
I was able to login via webGUI for about 2 months
Suddenly i can not login anymore.
A Reboot of PVE did not solve the issue

Like suggeested form @bbgeek17 in the other thread i did:

my machine is called "pve2024", as I understand I use "pve" to authenticate

created a user like:
root@pve2024:~# pveum user add admin@pve
root@pve2024:~# pveum passwd admin@pve
which worked

but login still does not work :-(

update:
Yesterday I logged on on the console and tried a "qm list", this command is still 'running' and there is no output.

You should review #15 in the other thread and follow the tasks listed there

good luck

Have you rebooted and examined the "journalctl -b0" line by line for any errors?
I will do a fresh reboot as soon I get a downtime tomorrow morning.

Hi,
I have been abroad - therefore no answer till now:
* Just needed to reboot the PROXMOX about every 3-4 days

ad diskspace:
root@pve2024:~# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 32G 0 32G 0% /dev
tmpfs 6.3G 2.1M 6.3G 1% /run
rpool/ROOT/pve-1 1.4T 1.5G 1.4T 1% /
tmpfs 32G 46M 32G 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
efivarfs 246K 169K 73K 70% /sys/firmware/efi/efivars
rpool 1.4T 128K 1.4T 1% /rpool
rpool/var-lib-vz 1.4T 22G 1.4T 2% /var/lib/vz
rpool/data 1.4T 128K 1.4T 1% /rpool/data
rpool/ROOT 1.4T 128K 1.4T 1% /rpool/ROOT
/dev/fuse 128M 32K 128M 1% /etc/pve
//172.16.123.60/backup 2.7T 1.1T 1.7T 38% /mnt/pve/ATWENAS01
tmpfs 6.3G 0 6.3G 0% /run/user/0

yes, I think ther eis enough free diskspace on each volume/disk

ad journalctl -b0:
I have some "x86/split lock detection"

the only "error" i have, that I can not do an update "command 'apt-get update' failed: exit code 100"
but for my understanding, this should not cause such a strange behave

--------------------------
edit:
I just checkes the VM and there is a gap in the VMs eventlog between 2024-10-26; 12.24h and 2024-10-29; 14.15h - the time i rebooted the PROXMOX
in syslog I found:
Oct 26 12:25:21 pve2024 kernel: BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000030

Thanks for helping - Best Regards
Ferengie

Can you login as root (pam) via Web UI?

Also can you try using ssh port forwarding tunnel to open Web UI?
You would need to open ssh session something like this (I don't know how to do that in PuTTY, sorry)
ssh -L 8006:localhost:8006 root@<your host here>
Then you should be able to open https://localhost:8006/ where PVE management would be located

Hello
I did an update and a reboot and now it looks like the issue is solved

Thank you for support
