NFS Vs iSCSI

Hi,

I would like to get some comparison on NFS & iSCSI storage domain . Which one more suitable for a production setup ? I am planning to use LVM backed DRBD replication . And also is that possible to expand iSCSI storage domain by simply resizing backend LVM ?

Without a doubt iSCSI/LVM is certainly better than NFS. iSCSI stores raw data without additional layer of software in between. The only thing about LVM is you can only store RAW image format and not the other such as qcow2, vmdk etc. Its performance is better. Some will argue NFS speed and performance can be tweaked beyond ones imagination, but i still believe iSCSI is better. Its just more industry standard specially when if you are working with multi-site infrastructure.
Yes it is possible to expand storage domain by simple resizing the backend LVM.
