Hello everyone.

I would like to get started with Proxmox, but I have some doubts about the installation:

- If I wanted to sell an HPE server (for a mid-range client, e.g., HP ML350 Gen10/Gen11, HP DL 380 Gen10/Gen11, HP ML 110 G10/G11), is there a list of compatible servers?
I saw this list, but I don't think it's updated: https://wiki.debian.org/HP/ProLiant
- Generally, the servers described above all had controllers. Is it necessary with Proxmox now? When is it advisable to have the disks managed by the controller and when not?
- Is it advisable to install on a RAID 1 managed by the controller with 2 LUNs: 1 for the OS + 1 for the VMs?

If you want to use ZFS you wouldn't need the controller or perhaps you would re-flash the controller to IT mode so that they disks get treated like a JBOD. But you do NOT want to use ZFS on top of a hardware controller. You could opt to not use ZFS, but I think that is half the beauty of Proxmox. The documentation recommends installing the OS on a mirrored drive I believe. https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/
