Hi all!
I want to test Proxmox and ceph a hyperconverged solution.
i have 4 servers supermicro, 1u, each have 16gb ram 1hdd 2TB and 1ssd 256GB.
I was thinking partition the ssd to put Proxmox system and use the rest of ssd as cache for hdd (ceph) storage.
Is this faisable?
i'm open to idea!
Thanks!!

Hi,

For testing it out this sounds OK, I'd omit the cache for now, you probably have only 1Gbps network connection anyway, and thus ceph will be limited by that already.

For a more production like setups it helps to have:
* more disks for Ceph OSDs
* at least 10G network for ceph private network
* more RAM and CPU will always be good

But for testing your setup is surely fine, don't expect the best performance though :)
