Hi all,
I'm coming from an OMV solution, switching to Proxmox.
I had setup SnapRAID and MergerFS which was working well. I would like something similar in Proxmox and then share it out to certain VM's.
One thing I've noticed so far, I cannot mount my current ext4 drivers that were setup with SnapRAID and Merger.
Would it be better to wipe all the drives and start again with maybe BTRFS or something Proxmox can see natively?
I dont want to use ZFS (as much as I love it) for my home environment and just media collection. I would also like the drives to spin down when not in use as media doesnt get accessed all that often.
Is Proxmox the solution for me?
I was thinking either create a VM and pass all drives through to it, or create the SnapRAID solution on Proxmox itself (I think this will be better for me).
Can anyone help with any guides or anything?
TLDR:
1) Do I need to wipe and recreate my drives with BTRFS
2) Can I use SnapRAID/MergerFS on Proxmox host and if so how?
