I just got a DL360 G7 for my home lab and am trying to install proxmox on it but have been unsuccessful so far. I am able to get to the "install proxmox" screen via loading the iso with ilo3, but when I hit enter to install proxmox it give me errors like "error reading sector 0x12d0 from hd31" or "unknown filesystem".

I have also tried creating a USB key with etcher and/or rufus, but am unable to get those to boot as well. I have also tried installing debian 6, but even that iso does not boot via ilo3.

I've tried everything I was able to find via search as well with no success. So I'm hoping someone here has some clue as to what I'm doing wrong as I am running out of ideas and options.

, but am unable to get those to boot as well.
With the USBs, do you see anything Proxmox VE related or does it not find anything at all?

For the USBs I get "Non-system disk or disk error"

I supposed I should add the server specs in case it matters:
HP Proliant DL360 G7 Server
2x 2.66GHz 12 Cores X5650
96GB
P410, 4x300GB (have tried both RAID 5 for all discs and RAID 0 for each disc)
BIOS is latest 2018 release

Hi Tomagoes,
I'm new to Proxmox jsut like you and had some trouble installing it to a DL380p G8 but finally got it done.
I also tried it with USB and mountig the ISO over the iLO.

This is how I got it to work:
1. In the RAID manager set the logical drive you want to use as a bootable drive.
2. When using the iLO and mount the ISO image, it regularely got disconnected while i was using Chrome browser. When I used MS Edge instead, I had no trouble and installation worked.

Well I tried everything and was ready to give up, so I let it sit for a couple days to ease my frustration. I did end up getting it working, but jut to clarify I could not for the life of me get any USB keys to boot, despite trying every method in the documentation and dozens of other methods. I could also not get it to boot from the ISO via ILO3 on a windows 10 machine (despite trying every browser I could thing of [even downloading IE]). I tried literally everything I could think of and/or find via google searches.

So, what finally worked? It was using chrome on a friend's Macbook. Used chrome to launch the ILO3 java web applet, mounted the PVE ISO and it booted right into the installer and installed with no issue!
