Greetings.

First post here.

New to Prox, and I have successfully performed a few installs to my CWWK n305 (8-core/8-thread)

It's been a few weeks since I booted such, and I'm now ready to begin diving-back-in.

There's a lot to take in, but (I guess) my prime query is how to best to perform an install on such a system.

My CWWK Unit currently has a 1TB SK Hynix P31 on a PCIe3 x1 m.2, and a 2TB version of the same on a PCIe3 x4 m.2

I have a 48GB Crucial DDR5 SODIMM installed in its one mem. slot

Initially, my intent was to have the default installation + ISOs on the x1, thus leaving the x4 to hold the potential VM/Container/etc.

This is my initial foray into a virtual setup, so redundancy/backups/fail-safes are not yet part of the equation.

I chose LVM/LVM-Thin for my initials.

What I really want to accomplish is having the OS/ISOs on the 1TB x1, and all of the VM/Container/etc. reside on the 2TB x4

The Default Installation process is rather fixed, and seems to fast-track me into storing things on partitions not (subjectively) suited to my expectations/intentions. How is it possible to configure things with more granularity than the initial defaults?

Hints towards performing a decent initial-install with such things that will lead to long-term satisfaction are much appreciated :)

Hi splifingate,
you don't need to set up vm/ct storage at installation time. The installation is primarily focused on getting to a running system. You can leave the additional disks unconfigured and set them up later via the web interface. By far the most flexible and feature rich FS for the root system and the additional disks would be ZFS, although I would spend some time on learning what it is and how to use it, since it brings a bit more complexity than a typical file system.

Thank you, Folke!

There is a lot to take-in...

I will return when I have my heard around things a bit better.
