Hello Everyone,

I am trying to test out PBS before I take the plunge into a bare metal install. So what I have done is create a VM with PBSv3 and it is up and running. I have added 4 drives to the system and did a USB pass through to VM, I see the drives on the host and i can see them in the VM, However when I go to add them in PBS i am not seeing them. 4_disks_no-raid2023.jpg

So now i see this in the GUI:

This what I see when I try to add them to the PBS:

I don't know what I am doing wrong, Please tell me what I should be doing/looking for.
Thank you guys,
Michael

USB passthrough is fully emulated and not great when low latency or throughput is needed.
You could try disk passthrough to bring your USB disks into the VM: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Passthrough_Physical_Disk_to_Virtual_Machine_(VM)

Also make sure the disks are wiped as PVE and PBS won'T show disks that aren't completely unpartitioned.
That's exactly what the problem was I forgot I had them defined in a raid with mdadm, it was actually simple fix. All I did was clear the superblock and they were available. Yes i know USB pass through is not the best way to do this. I just don't have the extra money to buy a proper system. Thank you very much for your response.
