New Installation Questions

Hello I have just discovered this product and am very excited to implement it!

I have a few questions on this:

1. If I have two servers, one more powerful than the other does it matter on which server I put the cluster master?

2. If I want to do hardware maintenance on the master can I bring it down after migrating all the guests to other nodes without effecting the other nodes on the cluster? Can I still manage the nodes when the master is down?

3. Do you support automatic migration (or is this on your roadmap) if a physical host in the cluster goes down due to hardware failure?

4. Is your bare-metal iso supported on DELL PE 2950 systems with dell PERC6I-INT SAS/SATA RAID controller?

5. Which low cost systems do you recommend for running a production ProxMox-VE installation.

no.

no, not via web gui (on the console, yes). only if you promote the node to new master.

3. Do you support automatic migration (or is this on your roadmap) if a physical host in the cluster goes down due to hardware failure?

no, as the guests uses only local storage now. so the guests cannot be started on another node (see roadmap).

4. Is your bare-metal iso supported on DELL PE 2950 systems with dell PERC6I-INT SAS/SATA RAID controller?

personally not tested. but if debian 64 or ubuntu 64 (8.04) works on this machine, Proxmox VE will also work.

5. Which low cost systems do you recommend for running a production ProxMox-VE installation.

I never recommend low cost hardware for virtualization environment as this makes no sense for production systems. if you want to play, just go for a system with VT support (or the AMD equivalent).

OK SO I purchased the complete package with installation.

I created a ticket.

How many days does it take for ANYONE to reply to the ticket system or is there a better way to have my order completed?

Hi there, I think you are in the wrong place.. this is a thread concerning "my" new installation of proxmox-ve, I don't work at proxmox.
