New Installation on 2 HP-Proliant DL380G7 - MSAP2000G3

Jerry, i do all... create cluster, and create VG and LVM, is add in proxmox.
it's necessary to mount on proxmox1 an proxmox2 (in fstab partion of volume group ?)
I ask this because, when i create the first and new virtural machine, i haved this error :
-----
()
Using default stripesize 64.00 KiB.
Logical volume VM-Store-1/Store1 contains a filesystem in use.
TASK ERROR: create failed - lvcreate 'VM-Store-1/vm-100-disk-1' error: Aborting. Could not deactivate thin pool VM-Store-1/Store1.
--------

I haved mount in fstab on pmox1 and pmox2, Store1 (
/dev/VM-Store-1/Store1 /pmox_volumes/volume1 ext4 defaults 0 2
)

When i umounting on pmox1 and pmox2, no problem to create virtual machine.

What must i do ? delete entry in fstab on pmox1 and pmox 2 ?

You shouldn't add entries to fstab because there is no need to mount anything. You have to add LVM in Datacenter --> Storage and that's all - Proxmox will take care of serving storage to be used by virtual machines.

Hi, i 'm back with my configuration (2 hp proliant and SAN MSA).

I do a new installation, and i doing a new configuration. I can do pvcreate /dev/mapper.... to made my LVM, is ok.

I doing LVM Group, etc... and i mount 3 new volume.

Is necessary to create group on 2 nodes ?

I can found on internet an howto with the same example to made au cluster with 2 node and one SAN... do yu know where i can found it ?

No, it's not necessary to create LVM group (vgcreate) on the second node, because LVM group is made on external storage which should be visible from two nodes.
You can add storage through Proxmox GUI only in the Datacenter section and when added it's propagated to each node belonging to the cluster.

Hi jerry, yes i saw this.
But i have a problem.
I creating 3 Lvm-thin , one dedicated to storage my iso file (linux, windows etc....), and other two create VM. I add it, but impossible to upload file. I try to add permission, but my session is Root with pam, i don't understand

Did you created LVM-thin on your MSA? This storage type can't be shared by hosts/nodes.
You cannot add file to LVM-thin storage type because it's block level storage - you have to use file level storage (see: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage). Moreover it's not possible to change content type to "ISO image" in LVM-thin device in Proxmox GUI.
IMHO the best practise is to upload ISO files to a NAS (NFS storage type) because it's accessible to all cluster nodes.
It can be also local storage (Directory storage type) if it's big enough but it is accessible to the local node only.
You should add ISO file using "Upload" button (content view of you storage) in Proxmox GUI.

Yes i do this.. i have 2 LVM-Thin on MSA, add on pmox 1 and automaticaly add on pmox 2.
I understand and i solve problem... i have create ext4 LVM on it and mount on pmox1, add directory in GUI, and it's solv.
Thx.

Hi, i have a big problem with my test installation of pmox.

1) i have install Proxmox on node 1 and node 2 (hp proliant) OK
2) i have install multipath, configure 2 volumes groupe (vm-data-1 and vm-data2)
3) i have LV
LV VG Attr LSize Pool Origin Data% Meta% Move Log Cpy%Sync Convert
VM-ISO-STORE VM-DATA-1 twi-a-tz-- 200.00g 0.00 0.43
VM-STORE-1 VM-DATA-1 twi---tz-- 500.00g
VM-STORE-2 VM-DATA-1 twi-a-tz-- 500.00g 0.00 0.42
vm-102-disk-1 VM-DATA-1 Vwi---tz-- 50.00g VM-STORE-1
VM-SAUVE-1 VM-DATA-2 twi-a-tz-- 250.00g 0.00 0.42

i have lost VM-STORE-1
root@PMOX1:~# vgchange -a y
Check of pool VM-DATA-1/VM-STORE-1 failed (status:1). Manual repair required!
2 logical volume(s) in volume group "VM-DATA-1" now active
1 logical volume(s) in volume group "VM-DATA-2" now active
3 logical volume(s) in volume group "pve" now active
root@PMOX1:~#

how must i do to repair it ?

in /etc/lvm/archive i have this :

root@PMOX1:/etc/lvm/archive# ls
pve_00000-681356608.vg VM-DATA-1_00012-1478993495.vg VM-DATA-1_00016-605214584.vg VM-DATA-1_00020-119776331.vg VM-DATA2_00001-225927898.vg

I think is possible to restore it, but how ? ;-)

Is the best practice to use with lvm metadata on MSAP2000 ?
