Hello, I'm building a new machine and my goal is to run proxmox with one gpu passed to a windows vm.
So far I've bought Ryzen 9 3900x and RX 6600, I have a spare rx 570 gpu aswell.

Now to the question, I figured some motherboards will be better suited than others.
Is Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE a good choice for this? Will the system be able to boot with 1 gpu passed to a vm?

Thanks in advance!

X570(S) will work best for passthrough with AM4. The x16 PCIe slot connected to the CPU can almost always do passthrough, but you'll have to make sure the B550M AORUS ELITE can boot from the other GPU in another PCIe slot. The first M.2 can also do passthrough, but most likely no other PCIe slots will work, only (on-board) devices connected to the CPU lanes (audio and one or two USB probably).
