Network upgrade and migration

Hi,

I'm going to add 10Gb network cards on my Proxmox nodes (Proxmox v4 up to date). I have 3 nodes and each has its own local storage (no NAS/SAN).
Actually, all network actions go through the original 1Gb card.
I'd like to use these news cards only for 'storage' actions like migration and backup and keep the 1Gb for VM and internet (I'm not sure to be clear)

1Gb cards : VMs to go on internet
10Gb cards : proxmox actions like backup and migration

Is there a way to do it simply ? (without reinstallation of course)

Hi,

yes you can set the migration network in the datacenter.conf
see

man Datacenter.conf

I've tried on a test platform and it seems to work great !
