Hi

A while back I switched my network provider and as I didn't really have time to set up a proper router/firewall solution I just used the stock router from my ISP. This meant that my subnet changed so I updated my /etc/network/interfaces accordingly. However now the box has reverted back to the old IP and I don't know why. I don't have a lot of experience with Linux network management and was wondering what I should check next.

My steps so far:

Turned out the issue was the hosts file which had somehow reverted to an earlier version in the power outage. I have no idea how or why, but fixing it solved the problem.
