Network setup fail#2

This is my 2nd attempt and ive failed...

I am trying to use 2 nics:
  • nic1 - vps
  • nic2 - cman / cluster management

nic1 plugs into a public 1gbps switch
nic2 plugs into a private switch.

Procedure:
nic1 stays the same...
create a cman1 bridge and assign it to eth1 /etc/network/interfaces
edit the /etc/hosts file point to private ip
reboot the box.

when this happens 90% of the vms work.... and there are a hand full that dont. When i check it out i can see that the vms that are not working can access the private interface and can ping all proxmox hosts. (this seems wrong)

i need to be able to split up vm data from cman data and it seems that proxmox does not work with this type of setup.

Any help or suggestion?

This has to be a bug...

is anyone aware of this? can anyone offer assistance?

Its the recommend setup to separate the cluster network from other networks. If it does not work, its probably a configuration issue.

We already offered several time our help, so just take it. Of course, you need to buy commercial support if you want direct support for your business.
