Network connection lost occasionally

Hi,
we are encoutering occasionally a network outage on some of ourVMs.
Typically this are Windows guests with a medium network load.

I can't find any logs or other evidence that, the host is aware of this behaviour, but the vm reports lost communication.
The strange thing is, that the link is still up, but rejects to pass data.

If I then go to the VM settings, disconnect the network adapter and then reconnect it, all works like a charme again.

I stumbled upon some reports decribing the same problem, but I can't find a suitable solution, that fixes this issue permanently.

The version of PVE is 5.4.34-2.

Hi,
please be aware that Proxmox 5 reaches end of life with the end of this month. So I suggest upgrading to the latest version, see this guide.
Did you follow the advice given in the other reports, i.e. changing the type of the virtual NIC to virtio and installing a recent virtio-win driver inside the guest?

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
Sorry, about the confusion regarding the version.
Just copied the wrong line from the kernel version.
PVE Manager is 6.2-4/9824574a

I will try the advice and change the nic type to virtio.
