Network Configuration Best Practice

Hi,

I understand that configuration best practice would be to have dedicated networks for each of the following functions:

- Management (Web Console) / Internet
- Storage
- Cluster
- Migration

If this is not possible since only 2 networks are available:
- Net1 = 1 Gb
- Net2 = 10 Gb

How could these functions be grouped together on these 2 networks?

At the moment I have done the following:

1 Gb: Management (Web Console) / Internet
10 Gb: Storage, Cluster, Migration

I have been thinking that since the virtual disks sits on an external SAN, they do not have to actually be moved when a VM is migrated, so migration should not cause too much traffic.

Are these assumptions correct?

Thanks

Hi.
use for the cluster both networks.

... AND use DSCP/TOS to prioritize the any cluster traffic (so you can get better latency despite of have high downloads traffic ). Also if you have smart switches with dscp/tos capabilites you can get good latency for any cluster traffic.
