Need to start fresh (wipe and restoremy PBS server) - Whats the recomend way to do this?

hello all, quick question: Need to start fresh (wipe and restore my PBS server) - Whats the recomend way to do this?

Can i just make a copy of the ".chunks" and "vm" folders and then restore it back to the new instance when it's online? Is there some other way i should acomplish this? I'd like to avoid losing my backups and starting fresh with new backups if possible.

Hi,
in addition to all the files located at each datastores backing path (including the .chunks ecc. as you already mentioned) I would recommend to also keep a copy of the files located at /etc/proxmox-backup, where PBS stores configuration files. This should allow you to restore most of the state.

Make sure to also preserve ownership and permissions.
