Hi everbody,
i'm going to start a new server installation that will run about 5-6 VM's.
Here is the config :
i7 920
16 go DDR3 RAM
RAID 0 --- 2 Raptor 150 gb 10000 rpm
2 To Seagate
NAS with 1 HDD for VM backup
1) Is it better to store VM machines ( KVM ) on the same partition as Proxmox or use another disk/partition ?
Actually I put a 2 To for data only so I think I just have to add a directory in Proxmox interface to store the vm on it.
Btw, is it ok to connect the 2 To HDD to the RAID controller or just connect it to the motherboard ?
Another idea I had is to install proxmox on a separate HDD and store the VM on the fast HDD ( the RAID ones ) but I don't know about performances...
2) Is it possible to make cluster with 2 proxmox servers on external locations ( I mean no LAN but internet )
3) Also, what are the best practices for a proxmox configuration for performances and security ?
Thanks !
