I have a Windows 10 VM installed on Proxmox 5.3 VE, I am trying to get an IPac2 device running via the USB Port. The problem is it really doesn't work (All the time anyways) So I'll describe what I have done to try and resolve the issue.
- I 1st tried uninstalling the Composite Device from device manager, it then reads the device in the port, begins installing new Drivers and In the window is reads the correct "IPac2" so it recognizes what it is but to no avail it does not work.
- I tried turning off "Allow this device to shut computer down"
- Tried different USB ports
- Tried attaching the device by Port ID & Device ID
- Tried installing the Manufactures USB drivers, but the install failed as I expected being a VM
So here's what does work "Sometimes" If I abruptly "Stop" the Windows 10 VM with the device plugged in and Reboot it up, wait a couple minutes after logged in it will then begin to work and works fine as long as it stays plugged in, and if at any given point it is unplugged, that's it re-plugging it in does nothing, (Windows gives it's audible notification when plugged in and unplugged)
For those unaware the Ipac2 Is a keyboard encoder meaning it inputs keys based on on/off switches. This device works flawlessly with every other device i use it with in the house linux/Windows 10 both, just not the VM.
I have tried plugging it in the Keyboard USB Board to avoid any conflicts with no other results. I'm just not sure where to proceed from this point. I'm guessing that it has to do with being a Virtual machine and somethings not being passed from Proxmox to the VM but that is only a guess. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanx!
