hi all,
I've searched around and read pretty much every thread about zpool related issues, but alas...

the pool in question is status faulted, one of the disks is unavailable (and physically removed to make space for replacement.

I've located the pool with "zpool import -f" but can't import it completely (zpool import -f atlas2), giving the response
cannot import atlas2: I/O error
destroy and recreate the pool from
a backup source
Problem is that I don't have a backup since I only got my BD-writer 2 days ago

Just to be sure, did you take out the correct disk? (Shit happens :))
Did you mark the disk offline before taking it out?

What configuration has the pool? How many disks in what raid level?
What is the output of zfs status atlas2?
