Hi all,

I have been running Proxmox since v3.2 on a Thinkserver TS140, without any major hickups. That is, up until now…

A major thunderstorm struck a couple of nights ago, and my UPS ran out of steam before power came back again. Host was running on a SSD, and is not shown in the Bios afterwards. I regard this as faulty, and have installed a new SSD for the Host with the latest Proxmox version 7.2

My backup's are my sore point... When I started with Proxmox the solution with Proxmox Backup Server was not released, so there are only internal backups on the Host.
I was relying on notes and screenshots for the setup, and have som old Host backup off-site. Going forward, You can be assured I will set up a better backup-solution with another server with PBS...

Setup:
Disc 1: SSD – Host OS
Disc 2-4: HDD for VM’s, mostly LVM (not LVM-thin)

I have not changed anything yet with fstab, I would like to have some starting points from You before I screw this up bigtime ;-)

Overview of the LVM setup is found in attatchement "LVM overview part 1" and "... part 2"
All partitions except two are connected to the VM’s, the last two is one ext4 for Host Iso’s (sdb1) and one LVM for backups (sdb4)
I have an old screenshot of the lsblk output (Attatchement "Snip old mount") showing those two, the output from the new setup is shown in attatchement "New cmd lsblk" where it is missing.

Question 1: How to get these to mount-points correctly set up? Just a simple fstab edit? The exact code for fstab would be preferred...

My main VM is a windows server WHS2011 (I know, a really old one…). This one is my main work-horse, and I would be grateful to have this up and running again.

VM100: Windows WHS2011 server
  • sdb2: OS
  • sdb3, sdc1, sdd1: Data discs for the whs2011
I only have screenshots from the old setup for WHS2011 (Attatchement "WHS2011 Config"), where You can see the connected discs in the VM, and the Host discs to the left as it was "In the old days"
Question 2: How should I proceed to get this VM100 up and running again?

Other Vm’s are not that important, but restore from backup’s in sdb4 would be preferred.

After installing the new Host SSD, I can see the other discs under “Storage” with the correct LVM data (VG/PV),

Any and all help is appreciated, if there is a need for further info just let me know!
Thanks in advance!

Best regards
