So i am not sure at all if i am doing things propper but its how i have gotten to the point i am at..

Built out a server
Installed Proxmox to SSD in server
Added VM installed OMV to it
Did LVM-Thin setup on 6 8TB spin disks then mounted those to the OMV VM.
Got on OMV and setup the 6 disks in raid5 and built filesystem, created a shared folder called Data.
Enabled that as a SMB share.
I am able to access this share now from my windows machine.

Next step that i need help figuring out is i have an LXC With Jellyfin installed.
I need to be able to access that Data folder now in Jellyfin so that way as i add media from my windows machine the Jellfin container can then share it out as my media server.

I know im prolly going about things way wrong here but its the only time i have been able to get my OMV VM to see those spin disc that i passed to it.

Only the less secure privileged LXCs allow you to mount NFS/SMB shares and that only after enabling the NFS or CIFS feature under the LXCs options tab.
For unprivileged LXC you would need to mount the SMB/NFS shares on the PVE host and then use bind-mounting to bring the mountpoints of these SMB/NFS shares into the unprivileged LXC: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Unprivileged_LXC_containers

If you want security + SMB/NFS shares use a VM instead.

Ah just build jellyfin on a VM instead of an LXC?
If you care about security, as you also want to be able to access your media library while not at home or if you ant to share it with friends, then yes.

If you don't plan to never make it public a privileged LXC should do the job.

Ya plan will be to open it up to few friends and family. So i guess i will blow away the LXC that has jellyfin on it and spin up a new VM then instead.

Once build it up as VM instead pretty straight forward getting it access to the SMB share from my OMV VM?

Sorry new to all this and just been messing with it in my down time trying to get it all up and going.
