Hi,

we need a new storage to store our VM's, we need to buy a new (budget) storage.
We have two separeted nodes with less than 20 VM's (max 5 TB of data).
Which brand do you suggest?
What about connection type do it needs to support (iscsi, fiberchannel, ecc)?

Any idea is appreciated.

I would and do use FreeNAS.. freenas.org

I'm connecting to the proxmox systems via a 10Gb link and using NFS. This allows migration between the nodes to be instant.

Hi,
I've already thinked about Freenas but I need the Hardware too so I was thinking about which hardware to buy

Dell R510 with PERC H700 Controller and 10GB Interface works fine. Fully 6Gbit/s on Disks.

I'm thinking to buy storage suggested on freenas.org site. Model with 2 10gb network cards.
Did you connected the proxmox servers directly to the storage or using switches?
If it is possible I don't want to buy 10gb switches
