Hi all
Split form my other thread regarding snapshot deleting

What is the best setup for a cluster backed by TrueNAS storage? I've come to understand that Qcow2 with NFS gives some issues
Thanks for your insights

"Normal" NFS will introduce a single-point-of-failure. With six nodes (and a hope for continuously available services) you might want to avoid that categorical.

TrueNAS offers redundant systems. (Not for free, when I looked at it last time.)

It's not so much that, as that qcow on nfs has issues with deleting snapshots so it's not ideal.
So what is the best setup with a NAS as shared storage (we already have the components)

Generic NAS usually provides 3 types of storage that are suitable for PVE: iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS.

Since it appears that Snapshot support is your business requirement, NFS and CIFS are your choices. NFS is preferred, so you are back to NFS.

There are 3rd party integration options for TrueNAS to implement what is called "ZFS over iSCSI". You may want to look into those.
