my journey to proxmox

Thx for the ref jsterr, i've used this to evaluate my needs on storage. My concern is now to evaluate the same thing on backup & monitoring so a a kind of abacus like the one you pointed me would have been priceless ;) I've made some approximation and it will be ok for this time. Next step will be POC !
Ceph with Proxmox is hyperconverged so dont forget your VMs and plan some buffer, in case you wanna upgrade your disks later (needs ram per disk!). Also think about MDS for placing isos on your HCI-Cluster.

Backup requirements can be seen here: https://pbs.proxmox.com/docs/installation.html#recommended-server-system-requirements
Monitoring is something you need to setup by your own, there is no proxmox monitoring appliance / system yet. But you can use check_mk for example.

Well it seems that I've made a mistake in my journey... My objective was to be able to upload a large file to be able to use a vmware W2K16 ova. So i reclaimed lv "data" from first hard drive since I don't want to use it for VM.

Then I extend the partition root (

root@pve:~# lvdisplay
--- Logical volume ---
LV Path /dev/pve/root
LV Name root
VG Name pve
LV UUID q5dLBk-adLw-mKVB-PGPc-TDjg-yG3J-bKfKdG
LV Write Access read/write
LV Creation host, time proxmox, 2020-10-02 12:39:11 +0200
LV Status available
# open 1
LV Size <128.23 GiB
Current LE 32826
Segments 1
Allocation inherit
Read ahead sectors auto
- currently set to 256
Block device 253:0

it seems ok but i don't see it in interface and in

root@pve:~# df -lh /
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/pve-root 34G 12G 20G 39% /
root@pve:~#

so i made a mistake between pve-root and root ? how can I fix it ?

TomTom

My mapped device (pve-root) has 128GiB available but my file system (ext4 I guess) has only 32 GiB. So I need to extend the FS, I'm I wrong ?
Makes sense to me. See for example this guide.

Ok, it seems that i've some conviction power since my client decide to go on both project for Proxmox (against Nutanix & VSAN ;) Hooray ! Next step will be to do a serious build now :)
This is great!

Hi all, First 2021 question but not least, is there a way to check what does counters means in the GUI's "summary" portion ? for exemple what does "Server Load / load average" means / measures ? Is there a man page somewhere that references those counters ?
