Hey guys,

I got a bit of a dumb question. I set up proxmox on a Wyse client with only one M2. drive and 64 Gb of space … well, I am running out of disk space. What are my best options to move at least my VMs and Containers over without losing data? As I got only one slot available Clonezille or similar doesn’t really seem to be an option.
It is possible to restore VMs on a fresh Proxmox install from another install?

Just use your backups (otherwise your data is already a good as lost) and restore on a new install on the larger drive?
That was my plan as well I just wasn’t sure if it would work. So I can just backup to a usb thumbdrive or a network storage, do a fresh install of proxmox on the bigger drive and let it restore my VMs from the backups of my old installation?

That's why you make backups, so you can try stuff and restore if necessary. In your case, you keep the old drive and if it does not work out, you can simply go back to it.
