Moving containers and VM's to my new Proxmox 8 node

Hi,

I've just finished installing proxmox 8 on a new machine and I've created a cluster in order to move everything over to new proxmox 8. When I try to migrate an offline container, it's looking for storage of the same name on the new node. What I was hoping was to choose the destination storage when doing the migration.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,
for the migration to work, you will have to have the same storage available on the target node, see https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/chapter-pct.html#pct_migration

So either create the storage on the target node with the same parameters or go the backup/restore route to transfer your CT to the other node.
