Hello everybody,

I have to replace the nvme drive on one mini pc part of a mini cluster.

This pc has a secondary nvme slot, can I simply install it, boot with a live and do a "dd" or "rsync" command to move the data from the old to the new drive?
Or is there a better why to do it?

boot partition apart the proxmox is on zfs.

Yes, provided that you do have enough storage on the new nvme and there is not some RAID configuration involved, this should work fine.

Anyway, I would recommend having a working backup at hand just in case.

Thanks for the reply.
I have the backup of all vms and I can move them to one of the other 2 mini pc meanwhile.

My fear is the proxmox cluster itself, because there is no easy way to add and remove nodes. Otherwise I could have simply reinstall and set the same hostname and ip of the old and move back the vms.

If I use dd and boot the new drive, could I have any error/problem with that?

I am a bit confused. Maybe I misunderstand what you mean, but there is a section how to add and remove nodes from a cluster in the Documentation.

Thanks

That was my plan B.
Delete everything, reinstall, join the pc to the cluster and move back the vm.
Honestly I thought that remove a node from cluster was more complicated, but instead are a couple of terminal command.
