Hey all,

I'm running into a new issue with a new Windows Server 2025 VM running on my Proxmox cluster. I enabled the SPICE display and SPICE enhancements in the VM settings and I've installed the virtIO tools which included the QEMU Guest Tools. Based on my troubleshooting and recommendations found on this forum, I installed the Spice VD Agent from https://www.spice-space.org/download.html.

All of the services are running in the VM but the issue persists. The mouse is considerably off from where the actual pointer is. It's also invisible. I turned on the "local pointer" option in the console settings and it shows the local cursor directly below my host's cursor but the actual click in the VM is wildly off.

Does anyone know what else I can do or check?

In the VM's options, is "use tablet for pointer" on? I believe this lets a click be sent to the VM with the coordinates of where the click happened, and with that off it has to send mouse movements (like move left 10, move up 20) as you move your mouse, so the local pointer and the VM's pointer can be pretty far apart.

Hi, SpacemanSpiff

Are you connecting to the VM using the SPICE client (remote-viewer), or through the noVNC console in the Proxmox web interface? Does the mouse behave the same way with both?

Could you also check whether Use tablet for pointer is enabled under the VM's Options tab?

There have been similar reports of mouse alignment issues with SPICE/QXL. You could try toggling the tablet option and checking whether changing the Windows display resolution to 1920x1080 makes any difference

Also as a side note. Check Windows to see if it has "Display Scaling" set above 100%

Cheers
