I'm trying to get SPICE to cooperate with Ubuntu 18.04 but for some reason when I use virt-viewer the mouse just lags. I move the mouse and I can see it smoothly catch up to my current mouse position. If I use noVNC it works fine. Right now I actually still have SPICE setup but only because it lets me get past 800x600 normally.
Ideally I'd like to be able to use SPICE everywhere that I have a graphical setup and xterm.js for the console only VMs. SPICE works great with Windows and I only actually applied the mouse fix (taking care of the weird mouse position error in noVNC when SPICE is enabled). The only reason I'd have noVNC still being used at all would be if I was remote and needed to get in and didn't have a SPICE compatible client available so it is still important that it works well in addition to SPICE.
Any thoughts of a fix on Ubuntu 18.04? Anything that is super obvious that I should have checked?
EDIT: Running Proxmox 5.2-1 free (no subscription). I changed out the enterprise channel for the no-subscription one since part of this is experimentation right now.
EDIT 2: I should add that when I said the mouse is "fine" in noVNC. It still lags a little but it is more than acceptable considering what I'm working with right now. However SPICE on the same VM is much worse and that is what I'm trying to fix. I'd post a config but I don't know what you are looking for that I can dump.
