Hello, first time poster so if I did not follow formatting correctly please let me know.

I have been reading about virtualization and am now ready to actually put it into practice. I have a probably simple question but I ran into this problem and hope this is easily solvable. Previously virtualizing on Ubuntu my VMs could connect to the internet, but interestingly enough could not find or connect to network shared folders on an OMV machine. What I would like to know is if in Proxmox, say I have 5 VMs running, could I mount the same folder (that is on a completely separate machine) on each of the VMs? I do not have much experience with bare metal hypervisor Os's that are designed for hosting VMs so this could not be an issue.

If that is confusing, I will clarify. Thanks for reading!

Hi,

you can use network shares without any problems in you VM's.
Proxmox VE do not support a shared storage on host level without nfs or cifs.

I'm having the same issue. After searching the forum many times today, I'm thinking that it is not possible. I tried creating Aliases, soft links from the Terminal, the "DMG trick", and changing the aliases in the hidden folder. Nothing has worked successfully.
