Hello!
There is some way to mount raw disk image to other VM ?
i have VM 100 with windows ( vm-100-disk-1) and now windows is no more bootable ....
can i mount (vm-100-disk-1) to VM 101 and acess files ?

hi,

firstly make sure your windows vm is turned off.

look at the windows vm configuration in /etc/pve/qemu-server/100.conf and find the line with the disk, like scsi0 or ide0 or similar.

add this line to the config of vm 101

make sure you name it correctly, so if you already have scsi0 in vm 101, add it as scsi1

boot vm 101, you should be able to see the disk

If the vm 100 won't boot, then an option is to mount it in another VM - keep the vm 100 off and recover the files you need. Then you could add a windows CDROM to the vm 100 when you're ready to start it and boot off the cdrom. Make sure you remove the line in the vm101 adding the vm 100 disk. You may be lucky and get the vm 100 to be recovered. Just make sure you don't run vm100 at the same time as having the disk mounted in vm101.
