no, Proxmox Backup Server is not supported there (didn't even exist yet/was still in development
). Also you should consider upgrading to 6.x anyways, because Proxmox VE 5.x is end-of-life since more than a year.

I understand, but my experience with upgrades from 5.x to 6.x has not been very conclusive so far, especially in terms of storage arrays and cluster management.
So sometimes, we prefer not to upgrade a solution that works in production...
I think i can mount NFS service on PBS to propose at least standard backup to old promox 5.X..

I am sure that the Debian version under PVE 5.x is no longer supported. If your environment is not 100% air gapped, then this is a very bad security practice.
