Hi guys,
I take this previous post :
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/mount-no-longer-works-in-proxmox-6-nfs-synology.56503/page-5
to report that the same happens with NetAPP. Proxmox 5.4 ok . Proxmox 6.1 with pvsm fails the mount with nfs v3 volumes. It does not always do so on netapp volumes mounted with the same options. Manual mount via fstab is always ok. I can only mount the volume as a directory. It also appears that the "is_mountpoint yes" parameter provided with pvsm is not present.

I send this report hoping to be useful. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or fixes

Hi,

If the online check error message occurs then Netapp does not answer to this check.

Code:
/sbin/showmount --no-headers --exports <server ip>

Hi Wolfgang,
it's correct. Manual mount works but the "showmount" shows nothing; freezes. Currently the provider assures me that the mount points are identical ( on NetAPP) . On 5.2 the showmount works on 6.1 freezes. I attach images

Can you try to call this command in a Ubuntu 19.10?
Because we have the same Kernel.

I am in a reserved storage space of the provider that hosts my volumes. I only have proxmox servers. I'm waiting for the netapp staff to tell me why the showmount doesn't work only on that volume. I can create a vmbridge and tray with ubuntu.

I ran the required test. Ubuntu 19.10. The working netapp volume runs the showmount. The volume that doesn't work on prox doesn't work on ubuntu either. I await news from the netapp staff. Tnx Wolfgang.

Hi,

Is your issue solved.

We have setup of Proxmox 5.2 and we are using volumes from Netapp. We just created new setup of Proxmox 6.1 and not able to add the storage through GUI as well as command line.

Volumes are able to mount through manual mount command but show mount is not working.

Hi Mobin,
tnx ! Not very quickly, the NetAPP manager admitted that he had put the volume in idle mode. the "showmount -e" command is disabled by the NetAPP Storage. From version 6.1 to 6.3 the only way to mount the nfs volume is to write the path correctly and mount at that point works.any attempt to view the list of nfs paths will cause the proxmox web interface to be in error. Nothing else can be done; it is not a Proxmox problem!

Hi Dave_S,

Thanks for the update.

Is there any solution for this from Netapp side?. I changed some proxmox configurations and after that I am able to add storage via CLI.

Note: I am able to mount the same volume from the Netapp to proxmox 5.2 via web interface with out any issues

Hi Mobin,
Yes, on the netapp side it is possible to reactivate the list of available mount points ( permit showmount -e ) . Due to our provider's policies we have not obtained it!

Dear Dave_S,

That's great.

Could you please share the case id of NetApp or any reference is there regarding the same on NetApp portal
