Hi,

I first installed proxmox as an LACP 4x1GB Bridge but the max performance on a lxc container was max 1Gb.
Which is quite normal with LACP. Is there a solution to get more bandwith because I will soon need a kvm with virtio which need 2 or 3Gbps and I don't really want to buy 10Gb ethernet just yet.

You will not get around 10Gb ethernet, as I assume it will not be the only one using the 4 ports. The speed also very much depends on the use case, eg. one vs multiple clients tx/rx data to the same VM.

Strange when using esxi with an windows vm I could get more then 1Gb.
And esxi was without lacp.

Hello,

LACP willn't split packets across multiple nic. For example a single TCP stream will always send/receive on the same NIC, so you can not have more bandwith than 1GBit. However, you can easily have 4 1 gbit tcp stream, or more, so the summ of all bandwith can be 4 gbit, but one tcp stream can not.

the real question is what is on the other end
many clients with a total more than 1gb? then no big deal it will work

one client?
if yes then how is it connected and which applications are used that need mroe than 1gb
more than one application simulataniusly total more than 1gb - no big deal keep going

one app ?
uhhohh youre in trouble, if that app doenst use concurrent jobs to make multiple connections then as said above youre out of luck and you need 10gbit
