Hello, all. I had posted previously about having trouble with storage on a server I am using to play with ProxMox.

I ended up using the 8 disks and created a RAID50 array, then allowed ProxMox to install however it saw fit as the default. I must have mucked with a setting somewhere, though. My objective was to chop off a bit of storage as a place to house ISOs and other files that might be needed for VMs, but I suppose I still do not understand something... Here's a few screenshots, and sadly, I don't know that I even know the right question to ask. So, just for some semblance of a formal question, How can I cordon off about 120GB for ISO storage?

Hi,
with the standard settings you have an big lvm-space for vm-disks. For iso/backup you need an real filesystem.

During the install you can select the size (IMHO below options) for the lvm-space to use an additional partition for an filesystem.
Or you define more than one raid-volume - system/lvm-storage/additional filesystem.

I don't mind starting over from scratch and paying better attention during install, but is there any way to "fix" the current setup? Hoping to learn something. I have read over the storage model docs, and either I am missing something or I need to re-read it a few times.

Thanks

I messed around for a bit and formatted the lvm located at /dev/pve/data to EXT4, then created a directory with all file types, and that seems to have given me "usable" storage. How do I ensure that Proxmox will mount this directory every time?

thanks
